January 3, 2008
Sara Nodroff, a senior at St. Mary High School, received a very special
"gift" just a few days before Christmas. Her dream of attending The Cooper Union
for the Advancement of Science and Art, located in New York City, became a
reality when she was offered Early Decision admission to the Civil Engineering
Program at the Albert Nerken School of Engineering. Every student receives a
full tuition scholarship. The total amount of Sara's scholarship is
approximately $120,000.00 for four years.
Sara immediately wanted to share this "good news" with Mrs. Ann Georgetti,
her guidance counselor at St. Mary High School, who had guided her through the
application process.
The Cooper Union is a
very prestigious institute of higher learning. Mrs. Georgetti knew that Sara
was competing with top students of exceptional ability and talent from across
the country, and was delighted to receive Sara's call.
Sara looks forward to studying at the Albert Nerken School of Engineering,
the largest of The Cooper Union's schools, which is top-ranked in undergraduate
engineering. Faculty, students and alumni exemplify The Cooper Union's national
reputation for academic excellence, outstanding achievement and professional
distinction and, to be sure, Sara will continue that tradition.
Sara, an outstanding and dedicated student, is congratulated by Dr. Bob
Berckes, Principal, and Mrs. Ann Georgetti, Director of Guidance.
