Senior Dan O'Neill signed a letter of intent to play baseball at Rutgers University. A four year starter at St. Mary, Dan has won numerous awards for baseball. He has been chosen First Team All-League, Second Team All-County, Second Team North Jersey, and First Team All-State Parochial. Dan credits his family and coaches for his success. In his spare time, you can find Dan working with the various service organizations at the school. He is an active participant of the St. Joseph's Club and Peer Ministry.
Outside of St. Mary Dan plays fall ball with Farrah Builders and the North Jersey Cardinals, he is also a volunteer at the Garfield Boys & Girls Clubs during the summer.
Dan is excited about playing his senior season for the St. Mary Gaels, hoping to compete strongly in the county tournament and to go on to win the state sectional and championships.Dan has stated, "Now I can go out there and have fun, I'll still do well and perform my best, but the pressure is off." At Rutgers, Dan looks forward to pitching and maybe playing a little first base for the Scarlet Knights, while majoring in physical therapy.
