St. Mary's offense sets up for their next play

  • Hubbard, carried 10 times for 70 yards
  • Gael's defense allowed only a second-quarter TD

quarter to sophomore Jeremy Thomas and a 35-yarder in the second quarter to junior Andrew Spanarkel.

The Gaels stingy defense allowed only a second-quarter TD and were led by LB Paul Ruddy and DT Justyn Cruz. Cruz's interception of a screen pass set up the Gaels final score.

The Gaels are now 7-2 heading into another state final showdown with 8-1 Paterson Catholic. The two schools have met twice in the finals twice in the last three years. Both teams have one win a piece. The rubber match is set.
