Boys Non-Public B: Kudos to Tyler Van Lenten of EC, who had a breakthrough race for 8th at Holmdel and his first SMOC berth. He'll join sisters Erin and Kayla on the Holmdel course next week. And Marc Rosenberg of Dwight-Englewood came within six spots and 15 seconds of his own SMOC berth as a sophomore. Here's hoping that next year he becomes the Bulldogs first SMOC participant. And finally some terrific. St. Mary's of Rutherford is back in the meet for the first time since 1998 and just the third time since 1979. New coach E.J. Cronin has come to St. Mary's after 13 very successful years at Oratory Prep. He won three Conference Championships during his tenure at Oratory (2000, 2002-03), two Prep Championships, (2003-04) and finished runner up in the Non-Public B race at the NJSIAA Championships in 2003 and 2004. In 2002, Coach Cronin led Oratory to a 19-0 dual meet record and was named Union County Coach of the Year by the Newark Star-Ledger. At the meet on Saturday, St. Mary's entered three boys led by sophomore Dan Wagner who ran the 3.1 mile course for the first time in 20:01. The new coach promises an expanded program next year, including some girl runners for the first time since the very talented Nancy Sinclair won back-to-back league titles in 1997 and 1998. Welcome back Gaels!!!!
