St. Mary Overwhelms Lyndhurst

The crowd at Saturday's league contest between the St. Mary Gaels and the visiting Lyndhurst Golden Bears, observed St. Mary's football squad bounce Lyndhurst by a tally of 38-0.

The Gaels now possess a 6-2 record. They play next when they host a playoff game against Morristown-Beard on Saturday, November 15. St. Mary will play a Crimson squad coming off a 28-0 loss to Morris Catholic. The Crimsons record now stands at 4-5.

St. Mary Trumps Wood-Ridge

Junior Mike Santos has stepped in at quarterback for St. Mary and threw TD passes of 26 and 23 yards to Garfield transfer Jeremy Thomas in a 36-6 win at Wood-Ridge.

The 5-foot-9 Santos gives the Gaels more mobility. "We're just shaking things up and we're looking for some big plays," coach Mike Sheridan said, "and he made it happen." Quadree Hubbard also scored twice.

Secaucus nips St. Mary

In Friday's league match, the host Secaucus Patriots football squad scored a close 14-7 victory over the St. Mary Gaels. The patriots struggled in the first half with a tough ground game from the Gaels but they held the Gaels to only 7 points.

Ridgefield Memorial drops to St. Mary

In Saturday's league game, the St. Mary Gaels (Rutherford, NJ) football team knocked off the visiting Ridgefield Memorial Royals (Ridgefield, NJ), by a final score of 32-3. Quadree Hubbard and Marcus Cook rushed for a total of 270 yards. The Gaels improved the 4-0

The St. Mary Gaels outscored Weehawken 43-14 on saturday's league contest. Joe tauriello had an exceptional game with 2 kick returns for touchdowns, one that was the opening kickoff, and a reception for a touchdown.

Other touchdowns included Kyrie Tyson-Jones and Andrew Spanarkel. The 3-0 Gaels will face a Ridgefield team who has potential to move the chains on October 11.

St. Mary routs North Arlington

The St. Mary Gaels football squad scored 41 points and limited the host North Arlington Vikings to 6 in the Gaels league win on Friday.

Running back Kyrie Tyson Jones had 7 carries for 105 yards and 4 touchdowns. On the defensive side, the Gaels recorded 3 sacks along with LB Patrick Manning having 12 tackles.

Running backs Kyrie Tyson-Jones, Marcus Cook and Quadree Hubbard rushed for a total of 110 yards with 3 touchdowns. Quarterback Mike Macaluso also hooked up with with Joe Tauriello for 2 touchdowns.
