Ethiopia is
Africa's largest population of people without clean water
than any other country in Africa. Imagine walking miles
and miles on dirt roads and for what? Polluted water that's
harmful and even lethal? 75% of the population lacks clean,
safe drinking water. Children are dying just because they
are thirsty and have only mucky, parasite infested, dirty
water to drink.
Charity Water is helping out
over 33 communities in Ethiopia,
by building wells for each
community that will provide
them with clean, drinkable water. It's a non-profit organization
brining water that is
safer and closer to people.
It all began last year when
charity founder, Scott Harrison
was turning 32. All he asked
for his birthday instead of gifts
was a donation of 32$ from
everyone he knew to build a
well in Kenya. He was able to
raise $150,000 and all every
single dollar went towards the
water systems built in 3 hospitals
and 1 school.
We are planning on doing a
variety of fundraising ideas to
raise enough money for one
well. Our goal is to raise
enough money to build our
own well. Which is why we
need your help, support, and
ambition. Help us help others.
If you made a donation, kindly let the students of A.C.T. know by signing our Charity Water guest book on Ms. Corso's weblog.
