urban and suburban school districts.

I have also enjoyed serving in various leadership roles on the county level (President of the Bergen County Principals and Supervisors Association, Member of the Bergen County Academic High School Principal/Superintendent Committee, Co-Chairperson ofBCSL Controversy Athletic Committee) and the state level (Council Member and Chairperson of the Committee on Crucial Issues for the New Jersey Principals and Supervisors Association). In addition, I have served as a Subject Area Chairperson for the various Middle States School Visitation Committees.

I was the recipient of the Bergen County Professional Counselors Association, Friends of GuidanceAdministrator of the Year Award. My student attendance policy was recognized by the National Association of Secondary School Principals as one of the most comprehensive in the country. Many high schools modeled their policies after the one I created for the high school. I presented this attendance policy and Crucial Issues in Education at the New Jersey School Board convention. One of the awards of which I am most proud is to have been selected as a Geraldine R. Dodge Fellow.

During my tenure in football, I coached High School All-County players, All-State players, College All-American players, one of which was the Third Runner-up for the Heisman Trophy, Kodak Player of the Year, recipient of theVince Lombardi Award, and was also selected by Sports Illustrated as the Greatest All-Time Collegiate Middle Guard. Another player was selected by Sports Illustrated as Columbia University's Linebacker of the Decade. Some players have been talented enough to have played in the National Football League. In addition to football, I also served as a Head Soccer Coach and Athletic Director.

On a personal level, I am married and have five sons. My wife, Maria, is an Elementary Principal who has enjoyed many successful years in education. We have enjoyed our boys'; academic and athletic experiences, and now my seven year old grandson has entered the first grade this year. We are looking forward to following his academic and athletic career in the years to come, as well.

As I have written in a letter to the parents, I marvel at the wonderful faculty, staff, students and community leaders I have met. All appear to possess a strong commitment to the school district. I look forward to getting to know the students, the parents and teachers, alumni and parishioners on my quest to making St. Mary High School the envy of Bergen County!

Every experience has been exciting, challenging and rewarding. I am looking forward to meeting and working closely with all of you.
