Welcome to the new stmaryhs.org. After a year in development it is with great excitement that this new web site will welcome in not only the Rutherford community but all communities that make up Saint Mary High School.
The main goal for this improved site is reaching out to parents, current students, alumni, and friends of our school. In other words communicating with the outside world, much like many of our teachers already do through online classroom blogging. The articles that will soon appear on this site will mostly be student generated.
This will allow those outside of Saint Mary to understand the great learning environment we have in place.
Parents and students interested in SMHS, can visit our brand new admissions page which features a three minute video on what makes St. Mary High School the right choice for your son or daughter. Let us know your registration status, this will allow us to connect with you during your high school search. Also, available online are tuition aid and scholarship forms. Finally, in the near feature also look forward to interviews with current students on why they choose St. Mary High School.
Our academic pages provide parents and students with information of each of their classes in all area's of study. There are new designs to our students of the month, student featured work, and teachers' sites and blogs.
Our newly redesigned team athletics pages will try to provide the lastest scores and news for each of our teams. New features include a look back at over 70 years of SMHS athletic tradition and an athlete spotlight which provides a background to one of our star players.
Alumni too will benefit with our new online alumni directory that will safely allow alumni to find each other through the use of the school’s alumni association. Other new features include a detailed alumni event section, an alumni spotlight, and availability to make an online donation to either our Recapture the Dream Campaign or one of our many scholarships.
By subscribing to our RSS feed you can quickly learn about recent news and on goings at St. Mary High School. The archives of old news, articles, and events will allow anyone to look back over the course of the year or years for information.
Finally, we would like to thank the many students who directly worked on making this new site possible. Many of these students where either interns or students in one of my programming classes. I deeply thank Richard Allen ’06, Ryan Bennet ’06, Dan Luzzi ’06, Teddy Skordinsky ’07, Mark Presti ’07, Justin Pardo ’08, Joe Fegelhi ’08 and Michael Meesch ’08. Without your effort none of this would be imaginable.
