SMHS receives 20K to establish the Joan Wieser Mazor ’64 Alumni Memorial Scholarship

The Joan Wieser Mazor ’64 Memorial Scholarship, established by the Mazor family, has been created to honor Joan Wieser, a graduate of St. Mary High School.

Joan was a special woman who valued family, service to others, her Catholic faith and education. This dedication to others was manifest early in life through her activities with the Girl Scouts of American and the 4-H club.

While attending St Mary, service to others was evident by her summer volunteer work at camps for special needs children.

After graduating from Marywood College, Joan became a Social Worker and worked with the neediest children in Paterson.

Joan was known at St. Elizabeth’s in Wycoff, her local parish, to be someone who unselfishly gave of her time and talents to support the church’s many charitable causes. This Scholarship honors her faith, her belief in a Catholic education and her commitment to service to others.
