T. Kevin Jones Memorial Scholarship

Thomas Kevin Jones died on Friday, September 24th, 2021, due to complications from advanced Alzheimer’s and COVID-19. He was 80 years old. Kevin was born on October 27th, 1940, in Passaic, NJ, and lived in Lyndhurst, NJ until he was a teen when the Joneses moved to Park Avenue in Rutherford, NJ. Kevin was called T.K. or Kev by some, Dad or PaPa by his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, but he was called “friend” by all. Kevin brought happiness and a laugh to everyone who came into his presence. His warmth and friendliness brought smiles to faces old and young alike.

Kevin was a salesman of team uniforms for youth, high school, college, and professional sports teams through his company Pro Design, Inc. He often expressed his creativity in the logos and uniforms he designed for his customers and even designed personal athletic wear and logos for the professional stars of the New York Knicks and the New York Football Giants. He also created the 1st uniforms of the famous soccer team, the New York Cosmos. A graduate of Providence College (class of 1963) and he served his country dutifully in the Army Reserve. Later in his career, he became a teacher and Assistant Alumni Director at his alma mater St. Mary High School (class of 1959) where he was a three-sport varsity athlete. As a teacher, Kevin was adored by his students and always had a pearl of warm wisdom to share with them. Kevin will be missed as a person with a big heart, a love of life, and kindness that knew no bounds.

Kevin is survived by his brother Robert and his children, Michael, Christopher, Jeanine, and Brendan. His grandchildren Julieanne, Nicholas, and Wilson and his great-grandchildren Gianna and Olivia.
