Marty McGonigle, Class of 1959, was one of our most proud St. Mary High School alumnus. An active member of our Alumni Board of Directors, Marty’s genuine love for SM was evident at every meeting and every event the Board sponsored. He was a source of endless energy and brilliant ideas that benefitted SM. At Marty’s funeral, Marty’s son Brian reflected on how his father often spoke of a St. Mary High School teacher, Sr. Margaret Eucharia, who made some calls and helped Marty get accepted to St. Peters College when Marty thought he was finished with school.

Marty generously sponsored many families who needed financial assistance to attend our alma mater. It is only fitting that we honor our fellow alum with a memorial scholarship in his name. Let us carry on Marty’s altruism by continuing to support families in need of aid through the Marty McGonigle Scholarship.
