Why I Thank
St. Mary Alumni

The alumni of St. Mary High School are an essential part of keeping our institution moving forward.  Without their time, talent and treasure, many of the things that make St. Mary High School so successful would not be possible.

The Alumni of St. Mary have given me the opportunity to have the best high school experience possible and to many other students as well. In both sports and extracurricular activities, the Alumni have made large contributions to our success and tradition here at St. Mary. Being a part of the football team and powerlifting program, I have been a witness to the dedication of the St. Mary Alumni and their efforts to carry on their traditions and legacies.

St. Mary’s has become a home to me thanks to the amazing student body, faculty, and alumni. Thanks to the endless generosity of the alumni, I am able to follow in my sister’s footsteps in attending the school I am so incredibly honored to be a part of. The financial support given to students like me, helps tremendously. Without it, we would not get the chance to be a part of the great community of St. Mary. While attending St. Mary, I have been given the chance to play varsity volleyball, basketball and softball, become a student ambassador, and take great academic courses. Being a Gael doesn’t mean that you simply go to St. Mary, but rather that you are a part of a family.

We are eternally grateful for the St. Mary Alumni. We are especially thankful for their generous scholarships, which we both received. With the continued support and dedication of the Alumni, we are blessed to be able to attend our High School of choice. Being a part of SMHS has given us life lessons in faith, discipline, respect, and determination. We strive to do our absolute best in all areas and will not take one single day for granted as a SM Gael. SMHS is not just a high school we HAVE to attend; it is a high school we WANT to attend. Again, we sincerely thank the SM Alumni for affording us this opportunity to be a part of the St. Mary Family.

Thank you to the St. Mary Alumni for giving me the opportunity to experience the true environment of a small, personal, and Catholic high school. I am able to follow my dreams with the amazing support of teachers, coaches, and challenging courses. Through your contributions, I am able to fully experience the value of attending a Catholic high school. I embrace the value of a St. Mary Gael by playing varsity volleyball, basketball, performing in the school play, serving as a student ambassador and president of the Exercise Club. I have maintained first honors since freshman year. I appreciate the generosity of the St. Mary Alumni; they instill virtues of honesty, hard work, and commitment through their continuous support and contribution to St. Mary High School. I look forward to continuing the traditions and legacy of St. Mary.

There are three words that truly say it all, small, personal, and Catholic. I would like to sincerely thank the SMHS alumni for sponsoring me and many students attending the school to continue our Catholic journey. This year, I am involved in the student council, student ambassador program, St. Joseph’s club, and I am a varsity volleyball athlete. I have been on the honor roll from the start of freshman year, I am a member of the Spanish Honor Society, a candidate for National Honor Society, and I continue to take honors courses. I am proud to have joined the St. Mary family and call myself a Gael. It is truly a one of a kind experience.
